City Property Committee: 225-11. Councillor Joel Kaddy, to accept the offer made by Dr. Alfredson to purchase 721-725 Main St. for $75,000, and to determine that the parcel is unique. (Amended to add: Advertising for the purchase of the property at 721-725 Main Street, Fitchburg, will not benefit the City of Fitchburg’s interest because of the unique qualities and location of the property needed for the following reasons: 1. this vacant parcel of land, consisting of approximately 0.334 acres and located directly across from City Hall on Main Street, is in a distressed condition and the beautification and development of this parcel will have significant and long lasting impact on the area immediately surrounding City Hall; 2. the parcel is in close proximity to City Hall and is a potential site for additional off-street parking for City Hall; and 3. improvement of this particular parcel will improve the area adjacent to City Hall and further the City’s goal of promoting economic development on Main Street.)
